Excuse me?!

Well, I guess the inevitable has happened. Ava is now going through a phase of calling me by my first name! Actually, it sounds a lot more like "Tim" than "Kim", but it is definitely NOT mom/mommy/momma etc. She will wander through the house looking for me, calling "Timmmm? Timmmmmmm????" I can't help but wonder where she gets that from (David)? I guess it also helps that I have a short name that's relatively easy for her to pronounce. So, for now, I am answering to "Tim" in lieu of "mommy", and crossing my fingers that this too shall pass! lol

We went through that phase too. It passed after a few weeks. It probably would have passed sooner if Seth didn't encourage it! Stinker! It helped that I had her call me Emily mama for awhile. Soon after she dropped the Emily part. :-) Just be glad she is not calling you other "choice" names yet! ;-)

That is too funny! Dani can't say my name but she calls Heston by his every once in awhile, I think it's funny. I love her Halloween costume and that video is so cute! I guess you'll be joining us in the all girls club huh? Tell Dave that it doesn't have anything to do with his manliness:)

Hi Kim, so great to hear from you. Roy and I are doing really well. We live in Draper, UT now. Roy got out of the military a little over 2 years ago and is now just in the Reserves. He is a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep and I am teaching 6th grade. It's so fun to see what's going on with you and Dave through your blog. Tell him we say hi! So fun that we are having babies around the same time.

PS Ava calling you "Tim" is SO funny!!!

I remember Lizzie doing that back in the day! I think it's an oldest child thing because they don't hear anyone else calling their parents "mommy" and "Daddy" - so they want to be like everyone else! I got used to it, but her grandparents did not...!!

Both my boys called me Jane for about a year. It totally frustrated Grandma and didn't help that I looked more like their nanny than their mom! They grew out of it but now when Daniel's mad at me he calls me "that lady." You have to pick your battles I guess :)
